Spravato® is an FDA-approved esketamine nasal spray for adults with treatment-resistant depression, and Fountain Valley patients can receive it at our Newport Beach office, about 10 minutes away. Each session takes place in the office under the supervision of our team and board-certified psychiatrist Hadi Estakhri, MD.

Spravato® contains esketamine, a form of ketamine that acts on the brain’s glutamate system rather than serotonin. It is approved for adults with treatment-resistant depression and is used in a structured, in-office program. Because of safety rules, it is never taken at home. Fountain Valley patients come to our office for every dose and stay with us while the effects wear off.

Dr. Estakhri reviews your treatment history, current medications and blood pressure to confirm Spravato is right for you.

In a private room, you use the nasal spray device under the direct supervision of our clinical staff.

You rest for at least two hours afterward while we check your blood pressure and how you feel.

You should not drive until the next day after a full night of sleep, so arrange a ride home from every session.
Spravato is approved by the FDA for adults with treatment-resistant depression, so many insurance plans cover it.
The medication is a nasal spray, which suits patients who prefer to avoid needles and IV lines.
Each session is supervised in our office, with blood pressure checks and staff close by until you are ready to leave.
Spravato is used together with an oral antidepressant and ongoing psychiatric care, not on its own.
For Fountain Valley patients, Spravato® sessions at our office typically range from about $300 to $900, depending on your dose and insurance. Because it is FDA-approved, many plans cover it after prior treatment trials. Call 949-945-0927 and we will verify your benefits before you start.
Our office is about 10 minutes and 6.8 miles from Fountain Valley, usually via the 405 south. Fountain Valley sits just up the 405 from us, and most patients tell us the trip is shorter than they expected.
