Allied Psychiatry and Mental Health provides Spravato® treatment to adults in Irvine whose depression has not lifted with standard antidepressants. You use the nasal spray yourself in our Newport Beach office, about 11 minutes from Irvine, and rest under observation before heading home.

Spravato® contains esketamine, a form of ketamine that acts on the brain’s glutamate system rather than serotonin. It is approved for adults with treatment-resistant depression and is used in a structured, in-office program. Because of safety rules, it is never taken at home. Irvine patients come to our office for every dose and stay with us while the effects wear off.

Dr. Estakhri reviews your treatment history, current medications and blood pressure to confirm Spravato is right for you.

In a private room, you use the nasal spray device under the direct supervision of our clinical staff.

You rest for at least two hours afterward while we check your blood pressure and how you feel.

You should not drive until the next day after a full night of sleep, so arrange a ride home from every session.
Spravato is approved by the FDA for adults with treatment-resistant depression, so many insurance plans cover it.
The medication is a nasal spray, which suits patients who prefer to avoid needles and IV lines.
Each session is supervised in our office, with blood pressure checks and staff close by until you are ready to leave.
Spravato is used together with an oral antidepressant and ongoing psychiatric care, not on its own.
For Irvine patients, Spravato® sessions at our office typically range from about $300 to $900, depending on your dose and insurance. Because it is FDA-approved, many plans cover it after prior treatment trials. Call 949-945-0927 and we will verify your benefits before you start.
Our office is about 11 minutes and 3.9 miles from Irvine, usually via Jamboree Road or MacArthur Boulevard. We are right on the Irvine border near the Irvine Business Complex, which makes this one of the shortest trips on our list, whether you are coming from Woodbridge, Northwood or the UC Irvine area.
